“As human beings our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has – or ever will have – something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.” — Fred Rogers
Hi, I am Katrina LeSage, Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee, supervised by Josh Glass, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have experience working with children and their families in the educational setting. I have had the pleasure to help children with emotion regulation, impulse control, resilience, and building social skills. In addition, I have helped families navigate through life transitions, parenting techniques, and relationship building. This has helped develop my passion to work with children, parents, and families in a more in-depth setting, where I can help them navigate their thoughts, feelings, and emotions that arise through our life events.
I see therapy as an opportunity to come together collaboratively as a team to help work toward a successful and productive life by setting reasonable and attainable goals. I believe each individual is unique in the way they handle and process life and should be approached as such. For this reason, I believe in using an eclectic approach to therapy which focuses on the needs of the individual, including the use of cognitive, emotive, motivational, narrative, and strength-based approaches. Above all I believe in the power of empathy, genuineness, respect, and love.
